In January of 2011 Albuquerque Comic Con became the first Albuquerque comic convention in nearly 20 years. Each year we have grown in quality, number of guests, and attendance. We strive to continue to grow every year to be a better partner for vendors, better outlet for fans, and a better friend to bigger named guests from Comic Books, Film, TV, and other Entertainment.
We host our events in and around Albuquerque and for the next few years we plan on being at the Hotel Albuquerque Old Town.
Jim Burleson is the owner of Albuquerque Comic Con and on the side he is an actor, stunt man, and movie producer. Often times you will see him getting killed by Steven Seagal, or punched in the face by Dennis Quaid. His IMDB can be found here.
Tina Presley Borek is the Director of Marketing and has been with Comic Con from the first show. She is also an actor who spends her time planning huge promotions for international corporations and developing film festivals for other countries.
Cody Smith Candelaria is our Director of Operations and besides working 3 other jobs she finds time to coordinate our VIPs, assigns our Volunteers and sees to their swag, and organizes our event layouts.
Sabrina Mason is our Volunteer Coordinator or as she likes to be called, the Supreme Overlord of all Things Nerd. She organizes schedules for all of our volunteers who we couldn’t exist without, and sees to it everyone has a place to be.
David Harrigan is a freelance comic artist who has gone so far above and beyond the call to provide us with the graphics and art we have to include him in our About Us page. Thought we can’t afford him if we ever got the bill for the services provided, he is as much a part of the Albuquerque Comic Con family as anyone on this page. He is amazing and there is no doubt, we couldn’t do it without him. Below is a picture by Mark Sarno of David and his lovely assistant Amanda Unis.
